Methodology
How we source & verify prices
Accuracy is the whole product. Here's exactly how the numbers in our calculators are compiled — and their limits.
Where the data comes from
Every price is taken from the provider's own public pricing page, cross-checked against recent pricing reviews where a tool hides its tiers behind an interactive slider. We record the plan name, the subscriber tier, and both the monthly-billed and annual-billed price.
How often we re-check
Email tools change pricing one to three times a year. We re-verify each tool's pricing on a rolling basis and stamp the date. The current dataset was last verified in July 2026. Where a specific tier is interpolated rather than published, we flag it in our notes.
How we normalise it
- Free tiers are counted as $0 up to their subscriber cap, then the cheapest paid plan applies.
- Annual billing is shown as the effective monthly cost, since that's the real comparison most people want.
- Tiers pick the first published bracket that covers your subscriber count — the same way you'd be billed.
- "Contact sales" appears when a plan caps out below your list size and needs a custom quote.
Rankings are by price only
Tables are sorted purely by cost. Affiliate relationships never change the order, and we include tools we earn nothing from. Features, deliverability and support matter too — we note positioning on each tool, but we don't let it reorder a price comparison.
The limits
Pricing changes, regional pricing and promotions vary, and total contact counts (including unsubscribed) can affect some tools' bills. Always confirm the live price on the provider's own site before subscribing. Found a stale number? That's exactly the kind of thing we want to fix.
